To use OpenCms efficiently, it is useful to have some basic knowledge on how OpenCms works and what are the main concepts. Background topics provide such information. They can be useful for beginners, but also for advanced users. They are not focused on a special feature, but explain concepts.

  • The topic provides the most important information on how OpenCms stores resources. It clarifies the difference between "offline" and "online", root and subsite, shared and individual properties.
