Main toolbar

The OpenCms main toolbar is a common menu present in all workplace apps. When you are logged in, the toolbar appears. It holds app specific and general options. Here we explain options present in various apps and the design of the toolbar in general.

The OpenCms toolbar is the central place for navigating through the OpenCms workplace. It provides various app-dependent options as well as general options. The toolbar is structured in three parts as shown in the figure below:

  1. Application name
  2. Application specific options
  3. Common toolbar options

On the outer left of the toolbar, the name of the current application is shown.

The application specific options are explained in the respective application, see for example:

  • menuBigIconActive

    A context menu with various options. Whilst the the menu as such is present in all applications, the individual menu items depend on the current application.

  • pinboard

    Here you can add a bookmark for your current place, this means:

    • current project
    • current site
    • and current foldervia structure id
  • Quick Launch

    Switch to other apps

  • UserIcon

    The icon shows a user specific configurable picture. Clicking on the icon opens a menu providing access to the following options:

    • Upload user image. Upload a personal image that is shown for the user in the toolbar.
    • Change password. Change the password for the current user.
    • Preferences. Opens a dialog to edit the user's preferences, e.g., workplace language, startup folder and more.
    • Edit user. Edit the user information.
    • Logout. Logout the user.
